Meet the authors

Shoshanah Cohen and Joseph Roussel lead PRTM's worldwide Supply Chain Innovation practice.

Shoshanah Cohen has 20 years of experience across multiple areas of manufacturing and operations, including innovation, supply chain integration, lean manufacturing, design and application of ERP systems, demand/supply management, order fulfillment, and new product introduction.

She has assisted numerous management teams in redesigning their processes for dramatic improvements in productivity, increasing production flexibility and customer service levels, and greatly reducing inventory investment. Cohen was a member of the team responsible for establishing the Supply-Chain Council and was one of the original developers of the Supply-Chain Operations Reference-model (SCOR), adopted by the council as an industry standard for supply chain management.

Cohen holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, an M.A. in technology strategy from Boston University, and a B.S. in industrial engineering from Stanford University. She is a Certified Fellow in Production and Inventory Management (CFPIM) by APICS. She is a frequent contributor to numerous publications.

Joseph Roussel has over 15 years of management consulting experience, primarily in supply chain innovation and management, product development, and cost improvement, spanning the industrial, aerospace, and packaged goods industries.

Roussel has led major initiatives in business integration as part of corporate reorganizations and mergers and acquisitions. He has worked with many companies across Europe, the U.S., and Asia to reconfigure their supply chains and implement new supply chain organizations and global operations. Roussel has led numerous companies in designing and implementing global strategic sourcing processes.

Roussel was a member of the team responsible for establishing the Supply-Chain Council and was one of the original developers of the Supply-Chain Operations Reference-model (SCOR). He also served on the European Region Advisory Board to the Supply-Chain Council.

Roussel holds an M.A.L.D. from the Fletcher School of Tufts University and a B.A. from Louisiana State University. Roussel has completed advanced studies at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and is bilingual in English and French. Roussel has written many articles and white papers addressing supply chain management for North American and European publications.
