He received his doctorate from Harvard Business School, where his emphasis was on the design of management control and performance measurement systems to improve innovation in organizations.

Marc Epstein is presently Visiting Professor and Hansjoerg Wyss Visiting Scholar, Harvard Business School, and Distinguished Research Professor of Management at Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University in Houston, Texas. Prior to his current positions, Dr. Epstein was a professor at Stanford Business School and INSEAD.
